Episode #4 Sees Tokyo Blade's Script Jointly Revised By Abiko and Goa
Season 2 episode #4 of Oshi no Ko takes off with Abiko, the author of Tokyo Blade goes to watch a play held at a stage-around. Much like Aqua, she too is blown away by the experience. Spotting her in the crowd, Raida invites Abiko for a chat after the play where he asks her how she liked the play and reveals it was written by Goa.
Raida then gets honest with Abiko and explains that they may have to go forward with a script that isn't up to par due to time constraints if Abiko continues insisting on rewriting the screenplay herself. He explains that the actors need time to rehearse and this means they may not have the time to revise the script she comes up with. Abiko then agrees to work with Goa again on the condition that they simultaneously rewrite the script. Thus, Raida sets up a video conference and a shared document =, allowing Abiko and Goa to directly discuss the script and revise it in real-time.
While the restructuring goes well, the final script proves to be incredibly challenging for the actors with most of the exposition cut out in favor of emotional acting. Unsurprisingly, doubt begins to form about whether Melt and Aqua will be able to rise up to the challenge. Aqua, in particular, struggles to express his emotions more freely when acting due to his usual emotionally withdrawn tendencies.
Thus, he asks Kana for advice, who suggests he think of his most happy memories. However, Aqua is immediately haunted by the ghost of his former self, who reminds him he has no right to be happy. Thoughts of Ai's death come flooding in, leaving Aqua feeling sick. Not wanting Ruby to know, Aqua asks Akane to call Gotanda instead and goes to the director's house instead.
Gotanda reveals to Akane that Aqua had experienced a traumatic event as a child and after hearing Aqua mutter Ai's name in his sleep, Akane begins to put together the truth. However, not wanting to believe the tragic truth, Akane simply hugs Aqua when he eventually wakes up.

Episode #5 Will Reveal Whether the Cast Will Be Able to Rise Up to the Challenge
While the issues surrounding the script have finally been resolved, the cast of Tokyo Blade, particularly Aqua, face quite a challenge ahead as they attempt to bring Abiko and Goa's vision to life. Episode #5 will likely see Aqua grow as an actor as he attempts to master emotional acting to properly depict his character, Touki.
As things stand, Kana and Himekawa stand to steal the spotlight from the rest of the cast with their sheer overwhelming talent. That said, the upcoming episode will likely see Akane declare her intentions to compete with Kana for that spotlight and whether Aqua can adapt to his new role will be crucial in determining the victor.
It will also be interesting to see whether Akane will be able to dig up more about Aqua's past and his suspected connection to Ai. Akane is still unaware of Aqua's true intentions behind working at Lalalai though he may open up to Akane a little more in the upcoming episodes of Oshi no Ko.
Don't miss Oshi no Ko season 2 episode #5 when it airs on HIDIVE on July 31, 2024.
